Kevin Navarro
Classical Pianist | vocal Accompanist
Seattle native Kevin Navarro's musical journey, which began at age seven, has taken him across states and back home. A versatile classical pianist and vocal accompanist, Kevin developed a strong performance foundation under the mentorship of Juilliard's Dr. Calvin Knapp, showcased by solo appearances with the Tacoma Symphony Orchestra (Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue") and the Pacific Lutheran University Symphony Orchestra (Franck's Symphonic Variations). While earning his Bachelor of Music at PLU (1999), he served as the principal accompanist for the acclaimed "Choir of the West" and was a highly sought-after collaborator for students and faculty. His early career in the Seattle area included work with Tacoma Opera, Tacoma Musical Playhouse, and Seattle Opera, alongside his community engagement as pianist, organist, and music director at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church and PLU's student congregation. Later, Kevin expanded his performance career in San Francisco, appearing in notable concert series at venues like St. Mary’s Cathedral and Mission Dolores Basilica and innovatively launching the "Virtual Virtuoso Concert Series" at St. Ignatius Parish. During his Master of Music studies at San Francisco State University, he actively performed and accompanied for groups such as the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus and San Francisco Girls Chorus. A prize winner in the Music International Grand Prix Competition, Kevin recently held the position of Principal Musician at St. John of God Church and was a featured artist in San Francisco's Sunset Music and Arts Concert Series. In 2023, Kevin returned to his roots in Seattle and has most recently served as accompanist for Pacific Lutheran University’s Choral Union, bringing his wealth of experience back to his home community.
