Sing a Joyful Song

Please join us for our next installment of the Virtual Virtuoso Concert Series "Sing a Joyful Song," which will be our finale for the Fall season. We have returning artists from our Summer and Fall seasons presenting a collection of beautiful and uplifting music featuring both solo and ensemble pieces for violin, soprano, piano, organ, and even members of the San Francisco Boys Chorus!

Our program will commence with a tribute to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, perhaps the most iconic composer of the Classical Era of Western Music, and who is historically known for shaping key elements of this musical style - simplicity, elegance, and joy. Mozart composed more than 600 works, many of which are considered "pinnacles" of symphonic, concertante, chamber, operatic, choral and solo instrument compositions. For this concert, we present some of his most beloved works including his Sonata for Violin & Piano K. 301, Motette for Soprano "Exsultate Jubilate", and a modern interpretation of his famous Sull' Aria from "Marriage of Figaro."

We'll conclude the concert with a collection of solo and ensemble vocal works which represent the a fun and light-hearted side of classical music. And our finale will feature returning members of the San Francisco Boys chorus singing a beautiful arrangement of "The Lord is My Shepherd."

Thank you all so much for your support this year! The Virtual Virtuoso Concert Series was created with a goal of keeping San Francisco musicians connected with an audience and keeping the tradition of "performing arts" alive and well during the pandemic. We are thrilled to see our audience grow internationally, and to have new artists join us each season! Planning for the Winter season is underway, let us know if you have any suggestions or are interested in joining our talented group of artists!
